A Gruesome Discovery

I found This little gem this afternoon while I was looking on the internet for information about Lucas Henry McDermott.  Family folklore says that he drowned in Lake Kootenay, British Columbia on January 25, 1893.  I happened across an online archive of "The British Colonist" and took a chance thinking for sure there'd be some type of write up about someone drowning in the lake...sure enough I found this little treasure that I believe is our man...

Granted it's more than a bit gruesome, but great to find nonetheless!

Lucas Henry McDermott was the son of Patrick McDermott and Hannah Mariah Ash for anyone who is keeping track.
