When I was a little girl it seemed like most years my Dad would make the decree that "Christmas is cancelled" much to the chagrin of his children. Luckily for us kids, Daddy's declaration never came true -- we always had Christmas. Until this year...only this time it wasn't Daddy who cancelled Christmas...it was the Flu!
Here's how my week started...I had decided to take the week off to relax and de-stress.
Monday : Primary meeting (they just called me to be the Primary secretary), lunch at the local IHOP, a movie with Friends.
Tuesday : Picked up a few last minute gifts, apparently "later" was "now", bought ingredients for Christmas Eve baked beans and Pumpkin cheesecakes, returned home to enjoy the Christmas tree and celebrate a little holiday I like to call "Christmas Eve Eve" (a tradition I started on my mission). Start feeling not so good...you know the feeling like you want to throw-up and if you could you'd feel so much better for it. About this time my flatmate start feeling queasy herself...the dreaded stomach flu that had been all through her family and the neighborhood had finally hit our house in ALL IT'S HORRIBLE GLORY. Ugh!
Wednesday (Christmas Eve) : 1:30 AM is not the best time to start your day. Sickness still hanging on by 10:00 AM I come to the very sad realization that I will not be going to First Annual Awesome Family Christmas Eve party. I really wanted to go see my family and hang out with the girls. Luckily Marge's dad was willing to run the presents up to my parents so that no one would have to be without a gift at the party. The rest of the day was spent sleeping and feeling otherwise pathetic.
Thursday (Christmas Day) : Still sick. Crazy wind storm. Dad called to check on me, get a couple of Merry Christmas/Feel Better text messages. Watched TV, slept and watched the Christmas snow fall.
Friday : Feeling a little better, went outside for the first time in days to discover at least 8 inches of snow on the driveway.
Today: feeling MUCH better -- wishing SOMETHING sounded good for dinner. Maybe I'll finally cook up the "blue box" Mac and Cheese.
And finally, because I didn't get to do it two days ago -- MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL my family and friends! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Wicked Obsession
As many of you know (and a few of you have mocked me for it) I have a mild obsession with the musical WICKED. This was not always so. When my flatmate brought the cd home she played it quite literally non-stop on the stereo in our kitchen. It quite literally drove me NUTS! Enough with the singing already. (those of you who know me well know that often unless it's my idea I tend to abhor something for awhile until I embrace it completely).
On what may have been the zillionth time through the cd I stopped bickering and started listening. And as the Glinda and Elphie would say, I was "changed for good."
Again, as many of you know my flatmate and I went to Denver last year to see WICKED on stage. We bought our tickets six months prior and waited with great anticipation for the day to come. And it was well worth the wait and every penny spent! It was quite literally WICKED AWESOME! Unless you've seen it it's hard to explain. So much so that on being in downtown Denver we fought the urge to buy tickets for the next available show--fortunately for our pocketbooks, it was sold out.
My niece and nephew spent quite a bit of time mocking me for the fact that the soundtrack was the only CD I had in my car--until they saw it in New York (this is me green with envy) this summer.
Which leads me to today--WICKED is coming to Salt Lake City in the Spring. My flatmate and I have been quite literally dying for the day we could see it in our own hometown. Tragically tickets go on sale at 7:00AM at the box office tomorrow morning and my cold blooded body and need for sleep prevents me from "sleeping" out on the sidewalk in front of the Theatre to get tickets. And my heart of hearts tells me that by the time the tickets are available online at 10:00AM that they will be sold out.
So, If I were making my Christmas wish for the day it would be that I would get to see WICKED and that I would finally have found that Platinum mine and I would get tickets for all my friends and family that wanted to see the show. Just a simple wish.
Dear Santa,
Please send by way of early delivery the deed to a Platinum mine and Wicked tickets for everyone.
Sincerely,
Bebo's Girl.

Coming Soon to a Blog Near You
There's a photo contest coming up that I'm a seriously considering entering a couple of photos. A friend of mine enters every year and this year I'm going to join her...only problem, I've got a myriad of photos to choose from, so I'm going to call on my somewhat small list of blog readers to vote for the ones they think I should enter -- kind of like the MSN picture of the week.
So stay tuned for the pictures and the poll. I've got to make it through this Saturday's Nutrition final then I'll have some time to pick my favorites...this will be hard for me since the contest is for color photos and I'm a such a Black and White girl...wish me luck.

Answers to Question #1 & #2
Bob Harper is the trainer for the Blue team on the Biggest Loser
Ben Harper is the "front man" (as they say in the business) for a band called Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. Though I've never heard of them it appears theve been around since 1992 and have 12 albums.
Who knew?

Random Question #2
This from Scarlet, wife of John...
Scarlet: Did I happen to loan you my Christmas Activity Books? I had like 3 or 4 and now I have none.
Me: I do not know these Christmas activity books, nor do I know Bob Harper.
Scarlet: okay... Thanks, I think. I have just lost several books in the past few years and I don't remember who I loaned them to. Oh well, the search goes on.
and I think you mean Ben Harper or at least I think that's probably what John meant to ask you :)

Random Question #1
This morning I arrived to find an email from an undisclosed Brother-in-Law, who we'll call John, who was recently given access to a computer at work for some odd reason...
John: Who's Bob Harper?
Me: I honestly have no idea who Bob Harper is…should I??
John: Scarlet and I were driving home yesterday and a car had a bumper sticker that said “Got Bob Harper?” I said “Who is Bob Harper?” Liz said “I don’t know. Ask my sister.” So I have.
Me (after "googling" said mystery Harper): According to Wikipedia Bob Harper is the trainer for the Blue team on the Biggest Loser. Now we are both in the know.
John: Well thank you. Maybe it was Ben Harper? He is a singer I guess.
Me: Funny. Your guess is a good as mine. You can thank Scarlet for me, you have been the first of what I’m sure will be a string of strange questions unrelated to my job today. But as always I am able to track down an answer.
John: That’s What I told Scarlet. “If You don’t have the Answer then your telling your sister does?” Scarlet Said “Yep”.
Me: Smart girl. Between the two of we know A LOT of useless stuff.
